There’s something magical about being out on the lake as daylight begins to disappear.
The fells become silhouettes, the water grows still, and the last colours of sunset fade across the sky. Then, as dusk turns to darkness, your board begins to glow beneath you, lighting up the water as you paddle into the evening.
GlowPaddle is your chance to experience the Lake District after dark, from a completely different perspective.
Come as a couple, bring your friends or family, or simply come for the adventure. With your guide alongside you, all that’s left to do is choose your colour, switch on the lights and head out onto the lake.
What to expect.
Your adventure begins just before sunset, when you’ll meet your guide, get kitted up and head onto the water while there’s still plenty of daylight.
Take time to get comfortable on your board, find your balance, and enjoy the changing landscape as the light slowly begins to fade.
Then comes the moment you’ve been waiting for... choose your colour. Flick the switch. And watch the water beneath you light up.
From there, you’ll paddle into dusk with glowing boards beneath your feet and the Lake District night sky above you. And if the skies are clear, you might even find yourself paddling beneath the stars.

- Waterproof jacket
- Closed-toe shoes

- Any medication if needed
Suitable for 16+. All under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

I'm a White Water SUP Coach with over three years of experience paddling rivers across the UK. During that time I've explored everything from classic white water runs to being part of teams completing first SUP descents on rivers in Scotland. In 2025, I joined an expedition to Nepal, paddling some of the world's most spectacular white water and gaining invaluable experience in big-water environments.

For the past year I've been coaching paddlesports throughout the Scottish Highlands, helping paddlers build confidence, develop technical skills, and progress safely on moving water. My passion is growing the White Water SUP community across the UK by giving people the knowledge, confidence, and skills to paddle rivers independently and enjoy everything the sport has to offer.
