Improver WWSUP

What is it all about?

You’ve got the basics down, but now it’s time to become truly independent on the water. On this course, we move into more defined river features. We’ll master consistentency in your river techniques breaking in and out of the flow ferry gliding and refine your stances so you can cross the flow with ease and react to whatever the river throws at you.

Improver sessions are all about becoming independent and consisitent on the river.

We will aim to tacked new sections of river each time you join us, as long as levels allow.

What to Expect

This course is a full day on the river working in smaller groups to refine your technique. Over a few sessions the aim is to make you independant in a Grade 2 enviroment. Develop efficent self rescue skills, river reading and leadership so you can start having your own adventures.

Why book with TayloredOutdoors

Hi, I'm Rich the owner of Taylored Outdoors

I'm a White Water SUP Coach with over three years of experience paddling rivers across the UK. During that time I've explored everything from classic white water runs to being part of teams completing first SUP descents on rivers in Scotland. In 2025, I joined an expedition to Nepal, paddling some of the world's most spectacular white water and gaining invaluable experience in big-water environments.

For the past year I've been coaching paddlesports throughout the Scottish Highlands, helping paddlers build confidence, develop technical skills, and progress safely on moving water. My passion is growing the White Water SUP community across the UK by giving people the knowledge, confidence, and skills to paddle rivers independently and enjoy everything the sport has to offer.
